Many online store owners have experienced this horrible feeling: A chargeback.
The worst is one that's fraudulent. where the buyer received the product without any issue, but they’ve applied a chargeback because they can.
I don’t know what the statistics are for this, but it sure feels like credit card companies favor the fraudsters over the small businesses they hurt.
It can shake the faith of the store owner. Worse, they may scramble to prevent future frauds in a way that creates friction with perfectly honest customers.
