It is alleged that Yelp is a pay-to-play scheme where positive reviews are more visible for those who pay and negative reviews are highlighted on those who don’t.

It is further alleged that Yelp is swimming in fake and malicious reviews which are used to blackmail or coerce businesses and support aggressive sales tactics against small businesses that may struggle to fight back.

My goodness, if any of that was true I might chance the thinnest veils of legal protection to advise any small business owner I could to stay away from them.
