About Datch Haven
I have…
- worked with ecommerce and online marketing since the days of asking Jeeves.
- run (and still run) my own online stores and have spent (and still spend) my own dollars on online ads.
- managed hundreds of millions of dollars in ad spend for large corporations, barely escaping with my soul and a few of their pens as trophies.
- run and grown a leading agency, hiring and training people beyond what they'd learned from YouTube tutorials.
- worked with hundreds of fellow store owners at this point. From the experience, I've learned from a spectrum of personality types who choose this ecommerce life, why they do it, and how they succeed or (more often (sadly)) fail. Oh yes—there are patterns.
My whole jam is that the Internet is a better place with more small businesses.
Sadly, the Internet isn't as friendly as it once was to entrepreneurs with modest budgets. The wild frontier of only opportunity is now dominated by a few roads and beset with toll booths.
So, I'm on their side. The online store owners, I mean.
Anyway, that's the spirit and context of this comic.
I have yet to tell my wife that I now spend considerable parts of my day writing comics, so let’s keep all this between us for now. Thanks.
